Wedding FAQs

How much does a wedding DJ cost in Perth?

Wedding DJ packages start from around $1,500 for a five-hour reception, covering the DJ, full sound system, wireless microphone for speeches, and the pre-wedding consult and run-sheet planning. If your venue already provides sound, a DJ-only option is available for less. Final pricing depends on your hours, your venue, and whether you add ceremony audio, cocktail hour, dance floor lighting, or MC support, so every quote is itemised and you can drop anything you do not need. Send your date, venue, and guest count and we will come back with a firm number, usually within one business day.

Can you handle different vibes across the wedding day?

Yes. We plan the day in distinct phases, ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dance floor, and each one gets its own energy and music direction. The ceremony needs restraint and clean cues. Cocktail hour and dinner sit underneath conversation. The dance floor is where we lift it. Mapping those transitions into the run-sheet beforehand is what makes the day feel like one continuous night rather than four separate playlists.

Do you provide ceremony and cocktail hour audio as well as the reception?

Yes, both are available as add-ons to a reception booking. Ceremony audio covers processional and recessional music plus a microphone for the celebrant and the vows, which matters more than most couples expect, because outdoor ceremonies lose vows to wind without one. Cocktail hour keeps the mood right in the gap between the ceremony and the reception while guests move across and settle in.

How do you keep the dance floor full at a wedding?

Crowd-reading and timing. We build energy in waves rather than playing big tracks back to back, so the floor fills naturally and stays full instead of spiking early and emptying. That means watching who is actually dancing, reading when the room is ready to lift, and mixing live rather than running a pre-programmed set. A wedding crowd spans a wide age range, and the job is finding the tracks that hold all of it at once.

Do you take guest requests at a wedding?

Yes, within your do-not-play preferences. If a request fits the moment and is not on your list, we will work it in. Your list always overrides a guest, so anything you have ruled out stays off the night regardless of who asks for it. If a request is right but the timing is wrong, we hold it until it lands properly rather than breaking a full floor to play it immediately.

Do you work with wedding planners and venues?

Absolutely. We coordinate directly with your planner and your venue on timings, bump-in access, power, and any sound restrictions, and we confirm all of it before the day. If you have a planner, we work to their run-sheet rather than asking them to work around us. If you do not, we handle the venue liaison ourselves so it is not another thing on your list.

What do you need from the wedding venue?

Access details, bump-in and bump-out times, a power source near the setup position, and any venue-specific sound restrictions such as decibel limits or a curfew. We have that conversation with the venue directly in advance, so you are not relaying technical questions between us. If the venue has an in-house system or a preferred setup position, we work in with it.

Do you travel outside Perth for weddings?

The greater Perth metropolitan area is covered as standard, roughly a 40km radius from the CBD, which takes in Fremantle, the Swan Valley, and the northern and southern suburbs. Bookings further out, such as the South West, can be arranged by written agreement with travel costed into the quote. Tell us your venue when you enquire and we will confirm before you commit to anything.

What happens if our DJ is unavailable on the wedding day?

We manage a roster rather than a single performer, so if illness or an emergency takes your DJ out there is briefed cover available. Your run-sheet, must-play list, and do-not-play list sit with us rather than only with the individual DJ, so a replacement walks in with the same plan instead of starting from scratch. It is rare, but it is planned for.
