What a wedding DJ quote should include

Two quotes can look hundreds of dollars apart and be for different things. Before you compare prices, check each one covers:

The DJ for the hours you have booked, mixing live rather than running a playlist
A sound system sized to your room and guest count
A wireless microphone for speeches
A consult and run-sheet planning before the wedding
Coordination with your venue on access, power and any sound limits
Setup and pack-down

All of these are part of our wedding DJ package.

What moves the price up or down

01

The hours you book

Our minimum booking is four hours, and our wedding pricing is based on a five-hour reception. If the dance floor is full and the venue allows it, extra time is charged by the hour.

02

DJ only, or DJ and sound system

If your venue already has a sound system, a DJ-only option is available for less.

03

Ceremony and cocktail hour

Both can be added to a reception booking. Ceremony audio covers the music for walking in and out, plus a microphone for the celebrant and the vows. Cocktail hour music fills the gap while guests move from the ceremony to the reception.

04

Lighting and MC support

Dance floor lighting and an MC for announcements are optional add-ons. Every quote is itemised, so you can drop anything you do not need.

05

Where the wedding is

The Perth metro area, roughly 80km from the CBD, is covered as standard. Weddings further out, such as the South West, can be arranged by agreement with travel costed into the quote.

Questions to ask a wedding DJ before you book

Is the sound system included, or are you relying on the venue's?
Is a microphone for speeches included?
What happens if our DJ is sick on the day?
Will you speak to our venue before the wedding?
Can we give you a must-play list and a do-not-play list?
Is the quote itemised, and what would make it change?

For what it is worth, our answers are yes to the sound system, the microphone, the venue call and both lists. We manage a roster of DJs rather than a single performer, so briefed cover is available if someone is unwell.
